About the Programme:

The lamp lighting and Oath taking ceremony of 15th batch of BSc Nursing Students & 8th batch of GNM students of RajaRajeswari College of Nursing was organized on February 6th, 2019 at 10.30 am. The gathering was welcomed by Mrs. Reshma Kharvi, Asst. Professor, and Medical Surgical Nursing Department. The programme was inaugurated with the invocation song followed by lighting the lamp and offering flowers to Florence Nightingale as a mark of gratitude.Ms. Julia briefed about the significance of the day. In the inaugural address, our Principal Dr. A Jebarna Kiruba Mary emphasized the importance of inculcating honesty, integrity, team work, excellence and quality in personal and professional life. The lamp lighting ceremony was lead by the Chief Guest, Prof. LakshmiDevi N and Guest of Honour, Mrs. Savitri Jayapal. The Chief Guest of the day was Prof. Mrs. Lakshmi Devi N, Nursing Dean RGUHS, Former BOS of UG Nursing RGUHS & Principal, and Global College of Nursing Bengaluru. Addressing the students, she stressed upon the importance of principles of modern nursing and the need to adhere to the social responsibilities and values in life than luxuries. The Guest of Honour was Mrs. Savithri Jayapal, Nursing Superintendent Grade-I, Jayadeva Hopital Bengaluru. She emphasized the importance of acquiring practical skills to work in the hospital settings with dedication.Our Chief Executive officer Shri C N Seetharam, Retired IAS Officer spoke to the students stressing upon inculcating the good human values. Dr. A Jebarna Kiruba Mary, Principal lead oath to the budding nurses. Mrs. Asha Sajji, HOD & Assoc. Professor, Medical Surgical Nursing Department was the host of ceremony. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Pooja.

Inter Batch Quiz Competition

The student nurses association of RajaRajeswari College of nursing conducted quiz competition on 12/01/2019 on occasion of national youth day in Kadamba hall under the guidance of Mrs. Jebarna Kiruba Mary. The faculties coordinated the activities of quiz competition. The competition was conducted under four rounds like general round, rapid firing, visual round and buzzer round for six groups. The questions for quiz were selected from nursing subjects. Students actively participated in the competition. Ms Asha and group won the first prize. The students expressed that quiz competition was helpful in enhancing their knowledge.

The Path of Wisdom

About the Programme:

As a part of the curriculum, an Exhibition on was arranged on 23rd to 25th January 2019 from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm at RRMCH auditorium by students of RajaRajeswari College Of Nursing Bangalore under the guidance of the Dr.A.Jebarna Kiruba Mary Principal, RRCN, Bangaluru and Mrs. Kanchana M.Naik ,HOD dept of pediatric Nursing, HOD and Subject coordinators of various departments.

The program was inaugurated by Dr. Bhima Uma Maheswari,Principal, Padmashree college of Nursing, Bengaluru Addressing the gathering, she said to the students that this is yet another learning activity wherein the students have put in their spirit and talents in bringing out a well-organized exhibition on Instructional media.Mrs. Kanchana M.Naik ,HOD dept of pediatric Nursing has threw light on the theme “the pathway of wisdom” and the importance of exhibition for the students .The exhibition was arranged under the different subject categories such as Anatomy,Physiology,Microbiology,Fundamental Of Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing ,Community Health Nursing,Psychitric Nursing, Psychology, And CET under the guidance of subject teachers and HOD of different department.

Dr A.Jebarna Kiruba Mary,Principal,RRCN,Bengaluru congratulated the students at this occasion for their efforts and stated that RRCN students have never kept back and proven their excellence wherever they are placed keeping up the reputation the institution. Dr Jebarna also assured the students that RRCN has reached its peak among rest of the Colleges and hence urged them to take up a greater responsibility to maintain the quality in whatever they do. She congratulated all the students for their creative ideas. Faculty including various department heads and students RRCN,Bengaluru were present. The exhibition served as a great source of information and learning to all the students of RRCN. The exhibition was attended by around 550 students of various institutes that is Padmashree college of Nursing,Sri lakshmi college of nursing, Patel college of Nursing, East west college of Nursing, RRMCH ,Subhash college of Nursing,Gangothri college of Nursing , Kalabyraveshwara Swamy college of Nursing and Kempegowda College Of Nursing ,Bangaluru

National Youth Day Celebration

The Department of Community Health Nursing is organized National Youth Day on the occasion of Swamy Vivekananda’s 156th Jayanthi,as an extension activity for the students Elocution conducted (Topic-Awakening the Youth Power) in seminar hall at RajaRajeswari College of Nursing on 12th January 2018. The stage programme commenced with a prayer song followed by a lamp lighting ceremony. Mrs.Tejeshwari.B.V, HOD Department of Community Health Nursing, RRCON welcomed the gathering and Judges. She motivated the students, quoting Swami Vivekananda,”Everything is easy when you are busy, nothing is easy when you are lazy” “Take risk in your life, if you win, you can lead! If you loose, you can guide!”, and encourage the participates for elocution. Prizes were announced to the winners of the Elocution competition. Ms Astha Risal delivered the vote of thanks. The programme was ended with National anthem.

National Nursing Conference on Research Methodology

Background:

Research not only generates useful insight and confidence but also acts as a stimulant for academic growth. Sound conceptual understanding of various research methods, research instruments, tools and techniques is an essential prerequisite for conducting empirical research. For undergoing high quality research and writing good research papers, one requires to collect, interpret and logically document the information. The art of drawing coherent conclusions, supported by appropriate research tools and reference citation is vital for quality research work. The applications allow scholars/researchers to test more complex, multilevel and dynamic models.

Conference:

Two days National Conference on Research Methodology …… Key concerns were organized By RajaRajeswari college of Nursing in the premises of RRGI on February 15-16, 2019.

On the first day 6 Sessions were conducted and on the second day 3 sessions were conducted also parallel session for scientific paper presentation and poster presentation.

All the delegates of nursing field assembled in the Kadamba Auditorium. The atmosphere was exuding the inquisitiveness of a new beginning. There were many UG and PG Nursing Students, research scholars and faculty members of various Institutions who took active participation. All the sessions were very interesting and the participants were much eager.

The Inaugural Session was held on 15/02/2019. Programme started with invocation dance by IIIrd Year B.Sc Nursing students. The inaugural ceremony of the National conference commenced with the lighting of lamp by a group of dignitaries.

The inaugural function was attended by Mr. Somasekhar Kalmath,Senate Member, RGUHS, Dr.Sathyamoorthy, Dean, RRMCH, Mr. Seetharam, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, RRGI, Dr. Ramachandra, Medical Director, RRMCH, Dr. Usha Ramachandra, PG Coordinator, RRMCH.

Organizing Chairperson Dr A. Jebarna Kiruba Mary welcomed all the dignitaries present on the dais and participants from various states, colleagues & students. She mentioned about the significance of conference and its aims about bringing together a core group of researchers from all over India with a significant participation.

Chief Guest Mr. Somasekhar Kalmath emphasized the need of research activities in the areas of Nursing. He motivated everyone to actively participate in the conference

Guest of honor Dr. Sathyamurthy, Dear, RRMCH briefed about the importance of the conference and how, these are going to be the future educational trend. He endowed the words of blessings for the inauguration of the functions.

All the dignitaries on the dias wished for the success of the conference. The inaugural ceremony was preceded with the felicitation of honorable dignitaries.

The session continued with the classes of eminent speakers continuously for 2 days. Having gathered loads of subjective knowledge, the students were finally exposed to a post test session. This exercise backed with the knowledge of research related concepts truly kindled interest of future researchers hidden amongst the learners.

Mrs. Asha Sajji addressed the gathering. Participants shared their experiences. Positive feedback was given by the Participants. The Principal and The Chief guest distributed the certificates to all the faculty members and participants. Also best paper presenter and poster presenter certificates were handed over to the winners. Vote of thanks was delivered by organizing Secretary Mrs. Parineetha.M She Summed up the 2 days Programme and thanked all the participants who took great effort in attending all the sessions and making the programme a grand success.

The conference overall was the feather in the cap and it was a milestone and there will be many on the way to come. The RRCON is always known for giving its quality education and making the students learn through practical training. This will be continued in the years to come with more number of workshops and conferences which tunes the intuitive minds of the younger generation.

The Next Steps

In continuation of the National conference, they were informed about the Regional conference on Statistical techniques and its applications on 15th March 2019.

1st Alumni Meet

1ST Alumni meet of RajaRajeswari College of Nursing (RRCN) and RajaRajeswari School of Nursing was held on 19 December 2018 at Kadamba auditorium, RRMCH, Bengaluru

Mrs. Kanchana M.Naik , Head Dept Of Paediatric Nursing ,Alumni Co-Ordinator throw light on the importance of creating an alumni association in our institute and also stated the motto and plan for future action in the alumni association. She said that alumni need to take part in organizing educational workshops, symposium in different parts of the country which will help in professional development and networking opportunities. Alumni members had a unique opportunity to meet their teachers, peers and juniors. Moreover, she provided with information regarding how to register in this association to all the alumni members and gave the details regarding the registration fees to get enroll . Dr Jebarna Kiruba Mary ,Principal interacted with alumni members and reinforced the necessity of registering in alumni portal of RajaRajeswari College of Nursing (RRCN).

In response, alumni shared their experience as well as interesting moments of campus life with audience Alumni reunion came to an end with a short entertainment programme.

Collage Competition – Stigma And Discrimination Of Mental Illness

Department of psychiatric nursing conducted a collage competition for 3rd year basic B Sc nursing students on the theme Stigma And Discrimination Of Mental Illness On November 22nd 2018. The students actively participated in the competition and the best collage was awarded.

NSS Day Celebration

The NSS unit of RajaRajewari College of Nursing was Inguarted on 01/12/2018 at College of Nursing premises. The formal function was started with lamp lighting ceremony by our beloved principal Dr. A. Jebarna Kiruba Mary and followed by the prayer song. Information regarding NSS was presented by the NSS Programme Officer Mrs.Tejeshwari.B.V and Asst. NSS Programme Officer Mrs.Roopalatha.V. From student committee NSS leader was selected by B.Sc (N) 2nd year students Mr.Darshan and Mr.Ajal Varghese. The programme ended with vote of thanks and National Anthem.

Christmas Celebration

Christmas celebration was conducted in our college premises on 24/12/2018. The program was organized by 1st year B.sc & GNM nursing students and management. The program was started with a prayer song by Abhiya Bijers & Ashly Bino followed by welcome speech given by Madhumita. Then the cake cutting event was done and the importance of Christmas celebration was spoken by Paulami. A few cultural events were conducted and the program was ended by vote of thanks by sunaina.
