Medical Surgical Nursing department of RajaRajeswari College of Nursing organized a training programme on basic cardiac life support on 08th & 9th July 2024 in collaboration with department of emergency medicine, RRMCH. B. Sc. Nursing 3rd semester students underwent the training programme. Detailed theoretical information was provided before the hands on skill training session as per the American Heart Association guidelines and recommendations. All the participants were made to demonstrate the BCLS skills and their doubts were clarified at the end of the session. The programme was ended with the distribution of certificates to all the participants on their satisfactory demonstration of BCLS skills.
RajaRajeswari college of nursing organized world breastfeeding week with a view to create awareness among antenatal, postnatal mothers to educate, practice and emphasize the importance of exclusive breastfeeding. To celebrate the world breastfeeding week, Department of Paediatric Nursing and Obstetric and Gynaecological Nursing in collaboration with department of Paediatric, RajaRajeswari medical college and hospital, Bangalore organized various activities from 1/08/24 to 8/08/2024. The programmes were organized by Dr.Aarpitha, Associate Professor, Department of paediatrics, RRMCH. Prof.Suganya. V, HOD Department of paediatric nursing, Mrs. Debalina Dey, Associate professor, Department of paediatric nursing and Mrs.Vanasree, HOD Department of Obstetrics and gynaecological nursing. 3rd year B.Sc nursing, 2nd year GNM and 4th year B.Sc nursing students. This whole event was guided and supported by Dr.Uma Devi, Principal, RajaRajeswari College of nursing.

Report On Rural Field Experience At Ganapathihalli Bangalore
From 1st May to 30th May 2024, the 4th year B.Sc (N) students of RajaRajeswari college of Nursing, embarked on a rural community field experience in Ganapathihalli, Bangalore. During this period, various impactful programs such as survey, Nutritional Demonstration programme, In-service education programme, Individual & group Health Education programme & School Health Programme were conducted. School Health Program dedicated to promoting student well-being through health education and screenings. Furthermore, they have conducted in-service education programme on “New health scheme in India” for health worker at RHTC centre, Chunchankuppe Bangalore.

Lamp Lighting
The lamp lighting ceremony, a revered tradition in nursing, was held to honor and welcome the fresh batch (2023-24) of GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) and B.Sc Nursing students at Raja Rajeswari Nursing College on 03/06/24. This significant event marks the beginning of their journey into the noble profession of nursing.
Following the welcome address given by Mrs. Deepa, Assistant Professor a spiritual invocation was rendered, creating a serene and respectful atmosphere. The lamp lighting ceremony was then initiated by the Chief Guest, Dr. Hemalatha, Principal, Universal College of Nursing. She was accompanied by senior faculty members and nursing leaders, symbolizing the passing of knowledge and wisdom to the new generation.

World Digestive Health Day
World Digestive Day, celebrated on 3.6.24 aims to raise awareness about digestive health and promote healthy digestive habits. This year Rajarajeshwari college of nursing participated in this global initiative by organizing a series of activities and educational sessions. Group presentations by students on various topics related to digestive health, such as the impact of diet on digestion, the role of probiotics, and the importance of fiber. The presentations were well-researched and informative, showcasing the students’ understanding and engagement with the topic. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Many appreciated the informative sessions and practical tips provided. The interactive nature of the activities helped reinforce the importance of digestive health in a fun and engaging manner.
The World Digestive Day celebration at RRCN was a resounding success. The event effectively raised awareness about digestive health and provided valuable information and resources to the community. We look forward to continuing such initiatives in the future to promote health and well-being among our students and staff.

On the occasion of world Schizophrenia day ( which is celebrated 24th May of every year ) III year BSc students organized the Schizophrenia Awareness programme at Kadamba Hall. The theme of this year celebration was “Celebrating the power of community kindness”
The event discussed and explained the causes, symptoms, treatment and prevention of schizophrenia through psychodrama. The programme was organised by Department of psychiatric nursing, and was guided by Dr Shamili Kowshik, HOD of psychiatric nursing department and was preceded by Dr Umadevi A K, Principal of Rajarajeshwari college of nursing, The chief guest for the programme was Dr Vishnuvardhan, HOD of department of Psychiatry, RRMCH,
All PG students of the Psychiatric department, RRMCH and BSc and GNM students of RRCN attended the programme.
Overall it was an informative programme.
Blood Donation Camp – 2024

The blood donation camp organized by Raja Rajeswari college of nursing in collaboration with [Blood Bank-RRMCH was held on 21/05/24 at Raja Rajeshwari college of nursing. The camp aimed to contribute to the community by providing a platform for voluntary blood donation, raising awareness about the importance of blood donation, and supporting local blood banks.
The participation from students, staff, and community members was commendable. Many first-time donors expressed their willingness to donate regularly, and repeat donors reinforced their commitment to this life-saving cause.
