As a part of curriculum 3rd year Bsc and 2nd Gnm students visited Krishna chaithanya special school on 10.08.24 and 12.08.24. Which was organised by department of pediatric Nursing. The faculty accompanied with the students are Mrs. Suganya V, professor and HOD department of pediatric and Mrs. Debolina, Assistant professor. The purpose of the visit are to make students to aware the different types of disability, various methods of teaching and learning for children with low IQ. It was an direct learning experience for students. Report on Organ Donation Day- 2024
A WALKATHON was organized by the Department of Medical Surgical Nursing on 20th of August 2024 to create awareness among public about the importance and need of ORGAN DONATION. Around 250 students along with the faculty members took part in the event. The walk began from the urban health centre of Channasandra at 10am and completed at Field Marshal General Cariappa Park. The students were holding the posters and placards to disseminate the information about organ donation and also the students were shouting the slogans throughout the walk to bring attention of the public to the importance and need of organ donation. The walk was constantly supervised by the police who ensured our safety throughout the event. Refreshments were arranged for the participants at the end of the walkathon.
Anti ragging
Anti ragging week was observed at RRCN on 12-08-2024 and as a part of it Mime competition was conducted based on the theme “Unite against ragging” and the winners were awarded with prizes and certificates.
Carrier Guidance and counseling
Carrier guidance and counseling was organised in RajaRajeswari college of nursing on 20-08-2024 by Dr. Umadevi A K, Principal, RRCN in collaboration with Elyonder educational services. To help students to gain knowledge, skills and experience to make decisions about their career path. The sessions were interactive. Eligibility criteria, documents required, levels of German language test and all the Steps to get job in Germany was explained by Mrs. Swarnalatha and team. The students learned about the scope of nursing in Germany
Independence Day
The Independence Day celebration at RajaRajeswari College of nursing was held on August 15, 2024 with patriotic pride. Dr. Umadevi A K, Principal, RRCN hoisted the National flag at 8.30 am in the presence of teachers and students. The National anthem was sung by all students and staff members with great pride. The program concluded with vote of thanks followed by sweet distribution.
Pranic Healing
A guest lecture on Pranic Healing was conducted on 12/08/24 at lecture hall 4, RRMCH. The session aimed to introduce the principles and techniques of Pranic Healing to the attendees, highlighting its benefits for physical and mental well-being.
International Yoga Day 2024
The International Yoga Day celebration was held on June 22/06/2024, at ACS Auditorium organized by RRCN. The event aimed to promote the benefits of yoga for physical and mental well-being and to encourage a healthy lifestyle among participants.
The event saw a diverse group of participants, including students, faculty members and yoga enthusiasts. Approximately 300 people attended the celebration. The yoga sessions were conducted by experienced yoga instructors Mrs Pushpa Angadi and Mr Sachin from Yoganivasa. The sessions were tailored for different skill levels, ensuring that everyone from beginners to advanced practitioners could participate and benefit. The event also included a session on meditation and breathing exercises, led by Mrs. Pushpa Angadi and Mr. Sachin. Participants learned various meditation techniques and breathing exercises to help reduce stress and improve concentration.
Participants provided positive feedback, expressing their appreciation for the well-organized event and the valuable insights gained from the sessions. Many attendees expressed interest in continuing their yoga practice and requested more such events in the future.
RRCN organized a series of sports and cultural events for students to encourage participants, team work and showcase their talents. The events were conducted from 22-07-2024 to 26-07-2024 and witnessed enthusiastic involvement from all the students.
The students were divided into four groups namely Ravenclaw, Slytherin, Hufflepuff & Gryffirdor.
A variety of sports events were organized including football tournament, Volleyball championship, throw ball, cricket, tug of war, indoor games and athletics.
Medical Surgical Nursing department of RajaRajeswari College of Nursing organized a training programme on basic cardiac life support on 08th & 9th July 2024 in collaboration with department of emergency medicine, RRMCH. B. Sc. Nursing 3rd semester students underwent the training programme. Detailed theoretical information was provided before the hands on skill training session as per the American Heart Association guidelines and recommendations. All the participants were made to demonstrate the BCLS skills and their doubts were clarified at the end of the session. The programme was ended with the distribution of certificates to all the participants on their satisfactory demonstration of BCLS skills.
RajaRajeswari college of nursing organized world breastfeeding week with a view to create awareness among antenatal, postnatal mothers to educate, practice and emphasize the importance of exclusive breastfeeding. To celebrate the world breastfeeding week, Department of Paediatric Nursing and Obstetric and Gynaecological Nursing in collaboration with department of Paediatric, RajaRajeswari medical college and hospital, Bangalore organized various activities from 1/08/24 to 8/08/2024. The programmes were organized by Dr.Aarpitha, Associate Professor, Department of paediatrics, RRMCH. Prof.Suganya. V, HOD Department of paediatric nursing, Mrs. Debalina Dey, Associate professor, Department of paediatric nursing and Mrs.Vanasree, HOD Department of Obstetrics and gynaecological nursing. 3rd year B.Sc nursing, 2nd year GNM and 4th year B.Sc nursing students. This whole event was guided and supported by Dr.Uma Devi, Principal, RajaRajeswari College of nursing.
