International Yoga Day was celebrated in the school premises on June 21, 2018. Students, faculty, office staff members also participated in the event with great enthusiasm. Yoga teacher conducted the yoga practice. The Yoga session started exactly at 9 am with Prayer, and systematic practice of different ‘ASANAS†of standing, sitting and laying positions under the instructions of Yoga teacher. During the session Yoga teacher narrated the usefulness of different “Asanas†for keeping their Body and mind in healthy, stress-free and cheerful condition.
Date : 21st June 2018International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June 2017 in the college premises. The college students and faculties actively participated in the Yoga practice. Mrs A.Jebarna, the Yoga Instructor and Mrs. Kanchana M Naik led the group. The programme started with chanting of the mantras followed by practices like pranayama and different asana. Also an instructor insisted the participants to adopt yoga in their routine life for their professional as well as personal growth.Â
Department of OBG Nursing in RajaRajeswari College of Nursing organized Nursing Quiz Competition. Subjects chosen were OBG Nursing and Child Health Nursing with a good measure of contribution from General Knowledge. A total of 20 teams were participated in the event. All participating teams underwent preliminary written test and the best five (5) teams were qualified for the final round. The quiz was conducted in different rounds with questions on Terminologies, Abbreviations, Situational analysis, Instruments, Visual clips and Drugs in Child health Nursing OBG Nursing. A rapid fire round was also included. There were also rounds on General Knowledge. It was a tough competition. The juries of the programme were Mrs.Kanchana.M.Naik, Mrs.Asha Sajji and Ms.Aruna Jyothi.
The first Prize was won by Parikxa and Mamatha and second prize was won by Bibika and team, Third prize was won by Ms.Nusrat and Ms.Abrar Rasheed
The national festivals in any country are cherished as auspicious days. The college motivates the students to celebrate national festivals like Republic Day, Independence Day. Celebrating festivals in colleges have become an integral part of learning and building a strong cultural belief in a student. We believe that Celebrating national festivals will allow the student to be in the right platform where they will work towards becoming a responsible citizen.
The First year B.Sc Nursing of 2017 batch, had their Induction Programme at college premises. Dr. B.T.Basavanthappa, Principal, welcomed the gathering, Mrs.Asha Sajji addressed the fresher’s and Mrs.A.Jebarna Kiruba Mary proposed vote of thanks. I year B.Sc Nursing and GNM students along with their parents had their specific orientation programme about the course in detail, and mentoring at class itself.
The first year B.Sc. Nursing students organized a nutrition exhibition. Nutrition-related chronic diseases are placing new demands on an already overburdened health care system and taking their toll on human productivity and quality of life. The delivery of nutrition services is now extending from the hospital settings to the community: caring and supporting the nutrition health of the entire continuum, covering all health status, ages, sex and cultural groups. Our First Year B.Sc Nursing students and GNM students exhibited posters on different food groups, special diets for conditions like diabetes, Hypertension, Anemia, Antenatal mothers and rich food sources of vitamins and minerals. Mrs.Usha, the Dietician of RRMCH and I year Class coordinator Ms.Jasmine Hilta and Ms.Chaithra organized this exhibition.

The lamp lighting ceremony is a tribute to Florence Nightingale-“The Lady with the Lamp†and it is an auspicious occasion in every Nurse’s life. This ceremony initiate the students into the noble profession of nursing, where the student nurses are adorned in their uniforms for the first time after which the students will study and practice in actual medical care surroundings. The lamp lighting ceremony for the first year B.Sc. Nursing and GNM students of RajaRajeswari College of Nursing was held on 05-04-2017 at RRMCH auditorium. The ceremony commenced with the invocation. Mrs.Kanchana M.Naik Associate Professor welcomed the gathering. Dr.Srikhanth Phulari, Registrar, Karnataka State nursing Council, Bengaluru, Karnataka was the Chief Guest. 125 students entered into the profession by taking the Nurse’s pledge which was delivered Mrs.A.Jebarna Kiruba Mary. The chief guest congratulated the student nurses for being into the noble profession, also added in his valuable message that care can occur without cure but cure cannot occur without care. Mrs.Jasmine Hilta, Assistant Professor, proposed the Vote of thanks. The lamp lighting ceremony came to an end with the National anthem.
The Lamp lighting ceremony is held before nursing students take on the responsibility of patient care. The ceremony for the 12th batch of BSc Nursing students was held on 18-03-2016. Mrs.Asha Sajji, Associate Professor, welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest of the day, Dr.H.V. Shetty, Dean, RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital addressed the students. In his message, he emphasized on the qualities which the students should acquire during the four year programme. During the ceremony, Principal Dr.B.T.Basavanthappa passes the light to the students who are ready to take the responsibility of patient care. 65 B.Sc. Nursing students took the Oath which was led by Prof.A.Jebarna Kiruba Mary. The programme came to an end with the vote of thanks by Mrs.Kanchana M.Naik Associate Professor.
