Independence Day Celebration

The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated on August 15th 2018 in the college premises. The entire college assembled at the ground. Function started with march fast and then regular assembly after flag was hoisted by the Principal. Patriotic poems and songs were recited by the students, Principal delivered the short speech. Faculty spoke about the significance of the historical day. The function came to an end with our national anthem, after that sweet were distributed among students.

Breast Feeding Foundation of Life and Nourishment for Life

Department of Child Health Nursing, RajaRajeswari College of Nursing, Bangalore organized the Health Awareness Programme and collage presentation on 3rd August 2018 at 11am for postnatal mothers and family members on the theme, “Breast feeding foundation of Life and Nourishment for Life”.

Breastfeeding is a universal solution that levels the playing field, giving everyone a fire start in life. It improves the health, well being and survival of women and children around the world breastfeeding weeks aims to highlight the huge benefits that breastfeeding can bring to both the health and welfare of babies as well as wider push for maternal, poverty reduction and food security. Keeping this in mind, and to raise awareness regarding importance of breastfeeding, health education session was conducted by 3rd year B.Sc (N), student for all postnatal mothers in postnatal ward. Total 20 postnatal mothers from PNC ward attend the session. The programme was done under the supervision of Mrs.Kanchana M Naik, Assoc Prof, Dept of Pediatric Nursing and Ms.Jasmine Hilta, Asst Professor Dept of Pediatric Nursing.

Breastfeeding Exhibition 2016

College of Nursing conducted an exhibition on 03/08/2016 as a part of breast feeding week celebration. The inauguration was followed by a stage programme. Mr. Eldhose Baby Nursing student welcomed the gathering. Mrs.A. Jebarna, OBG Nursing, Subject Coordinator, highlighted the importance of Health Education and emphasized that the patient education is the major responsibility of nurses to be equipped and to adapt the educational media for their effective utilization. IVth Year B.Sc Nursing Students were displayed and exhibits the charts, posters, model related to breast feeding in Antenatal ward and postnatal ward at RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital.

Nurses Day 2017

International Nurses Day as a part of birthday of Miss. Florence Nightingale, founder of modern Nursing was celebrated on 12th may 2017 at 10:00 am. The programme was started with a welcome speech by Mrs. Kanchana M Naik, Associate Professor.

The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr Shetty H V, Dean, RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital followed by lighting the lamp by all the dignitaries of dias..

Principal Dr.B.T.Basavanthappa discussed about the importance of the day and introduced the theme of international Nurses day 2017; A Nurse voice to lead: achieving sustainable goals. During the speech by chief guest he motivated the students to have high visionary goals in their professional life by stressing that Nursing is a unique profession that focus on service oriented goal towards serving the mankind.

A Lecture was done by the faculties on the Theme: A Nurse voice to lead: Achieving sustainable development goals. They discussed effectively on the goals to achieve the sustainable development considering the focus on the role of nurse and contribution by every citizen constantly in day today life.

The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Mrs.Asha R V Assistant Professor.

Community Activity

RajaRajeswari College of Nursing are used the Primary Health Training Centre at Chunchunkuppe, Urban Health Centre – Agara, , Community Care Centre – Ramanagar Town, Ramnagar Dist. for field Based Activities. These centers are adopted by RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital.

World AIDS Day 2017

World AIDS Day was celebrated on 1st December 2017. Poster presentations based on AIDS theme and its awareness were presented by the students of BSc, P.B.B.Sc and M.Sc. Nursing students. An interactive session on HIV and AIDS was held for the first year B.Sc Nursing students, and Mrs.Muneeswari, HOD of Pediatric Nursing department was the resource person. She emphasized on HIV transmission, staging, treatment, prevention, and role of nurses in overcoming stigma and discrimination. 

Lamp lighting and Oath taking ceremony 2018

The lamp lighting ceremony and oath taking ceremony by the fresher’s who are entering the nursing profession, is being organised regularly every year. I year B.Sc Nursing and GNM Students of 2018 batch students had their 14th Lamp Lighting Ceremony on 06-04-2018. The chief Guest of the day was Prof. Dr. Sangamesh Nidagundi, Principal, Sri Kalabyraveshwara Swamy College of nursing. The programme was inaugurated by the dignitaries by lighting the lamp. Mrs.Kanchana M.Naik Associate Professor welcomed the gathering. The entire first year students took part in Ms. Florence Nightingale oath which was led by Mrs.A.Jebarna Kiruba Mary. Chief Guest highlighted the uniqueness of nursing profession that the students should develop towards nursing the sick and the commitment in caring the humanity as a whole to provide nursing service for which skill development and adequate training is the foundation. On the eve, A.Jebarna Kiruba Mary was felicitated by Dr.B.T.Basavanthappa, Principal, RajaRajeswari College of the Nursing for achievement of her Doctoral degree. All the year students actively participated in various Cultural Programmes like Song, Dance etc. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks.

International Blood Donation Day

RajaRajeswari College of Nursing Students participates in Blood donation camp on occasion of International Blood Donation Day 14th June 2018.The need to create awareness of voluntary blood donation among the youth was stressed at a health talk to public. Following the health talk, about 10 students of our college donated blood at a camp conducted by the RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital.
