The Foundation Day 2018

22nd Sep 2018 is observed as “The Foundation Day” in RajaRajeswari Group of Institutions. Commemorating, our beloved chairman Dr. A. C. Shanmugam’s birthday, RajaRajeswari Group of Institutions had organized Community Oriented Programs like, Blood Donation Camps, gifts to the Orphanages & old age homes, NSS camps, Organs Donation Drive, Free Health and Dental Check up Camps, and much more. Apart from this RajaRajeswari Group of Institutions had also organized the Chairman Trophy among the inter-institutions. The Sports is conducted for all Teaching Staff, Non-teaching Staff and Students as well. Sports Events: 1.Cricket 2.Volley Ball 3.Foot Ball 4.Basket Ball & 5.Throw Ball RajaRajeswari Group of Institutions had organized Blood Donation Camps, gifts and food to the Orphanages & old age homes, NSS camps, Organs Donation Drive, and much more. Apart from this Rajarajeswari Group of Institutions had also organized the Chairman Trophy.

Kodagu Relief Fund

It is an immense pleasure to share with, that Rajarajeswari Group of Institutions has donated an amount of Rs. 20,00,000 (Twenty lakhs) for the “Kodagu Relief Fund”. The cheque was handed over to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka Mr. Kumaraswamy by the Executive Director Dr. S.Vijayanand (RRGI) in person.

International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

International Day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking was celebrated on 26 June 2018 by 3rd year B.sc nursing students of RajaRajeswari College of nursing. The main aim was to create awareness about the drug abuse among the people present in the psychiatric OPD thereby explaining them about the merits and demerits of the drugs abuse as well as providing some health education. Posters and Charts were displayed in the psychiatric OPD of RRMC&H regarding different kinds of drug abuse, its consequences and how to overcome it. About 30 to 40 general public as well as some drug abuse patients participated and got benefitted and their doubts were clarified to some extent.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Programme

About the Programme:

Breast cancer accounts for 19-34% of all cancer cases among women in India. There is high mortality due to late stage diagnosis as patients usually present at an advanced stage because of lack of awareness and nonexistent breast cancer screening programs. Early detection and prompt treatment offer the greatest chance of long-term survival and breast self-examination (BSE) seems to be an important viable optional substitute for early detection of cancer.

Regard to this, Obstetrics and gynecological Nursing Department observedthe Breast cancer awareness day on 3rd October 2018. To mark this day, IInd year GNM students gave Health Education regarding the Breast cancer, Management and its prevention in OBG OPD, Inpatient and outpatient unit of gynecology Department at RRMCH.

College Day – Waves 2018

Annual college programme waves 2018 (tides of time) July 28, 2018 at 11.00 am in our college premises. The chief guest for the celebration was Mr. Seetharam Rtd, IAS officer, RRMCH, guest of honor, Mr. Shanmugham, CEO RRGI, Dr Balasubramaniyan, Principal RRCP graced the occasion. College report was presented by Mrs. Jebarna Kiruba Mary, Professor, Dept of OBG Nursing. Ms. Tina karki and Ms Pustara Wosti were awarded as academic toppers. Dr B T Basavanthappa, principal, RRCON honored the academic prize winners, chief guest distributed the prizes to the winners of both cultural and academics. The programme was closed with the cultural entertainment by the students. Celebration came to an end by 1.30 pm.

College Day – Explorica 2017

Annual College program, Explorica – 2017 was held on 14/6/2017 in Kadamba, RRMCH. The chief guest for the celebration was Dr.Yathikumar Swamy Gowda, Dean Faculty of Nursing, RGUHS and Member Karnataka state Nursing Council and the guest of honor was Mrs. Janaki, Secretary, Karnataka State Diploma Nursing examination Board, Bangalore, Karnataka. The official function of the college day began at 10:45 am as per the schedule with a prayer song by the students. Mrs.Kanchana M Naik welcomes the gatherings. This was followed by the presidential address and the presentation of the college report for the academic year 2016 – 2017 was presented by Mrs. A Jebarna Kiruba Mary. Ms.Ramseena was awarded as the academic topper for the year 2017.The chief guest and guest of honor distributed the certificates and prizes to the winners of both cultural and academic students entertain with cultural events and Mrs. Chaithra expressed vote of thanks.The programme came to a close by about 1:00 pm

Elan (The world of liveliness) – 2016

RajaRajeswari College of Nursing held its annual college day the world of liveliness “Elan (The world of liveliness) – 2016” on 29th July 2016. Chief guest Dr. Pravin, HOD Dept of Radiology, RRMCH, Guest of honour Dr. Meena, Prof, Dept of Pharmacology, RRMCH, graced the occasion. Dr. B.T Basavanthappa, Principal presented the annual college report. Academic topper for the year 2016 was awarded to Ms. Parikxa Parijuli. additionally the event was conducted to select the best talent amongst the boys and girls. Mr. Abrar wani and Ms. Nusrat Nazir were selected as Mr. RRCON and Miss. RRCON respectively. Prizes & certificates were distributed to all winners of the cultural and sports competitions for the year 2016.Finally, there was cultural programme. Students exhibited their talents through the variety entertainment programme. The programme was a grand success. Everybody enjoyed it.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

World Elderly Abuse Awareness Day was celebrated on 15th June 2018 by 3rd year B. Sc. Nursing students of RajaRajeswari College of nursing. The main aim was to create awareness about the elderly safety and thereby encouraging them to lead a healthy and stress free life. Posters and charts were displayed in the Medical wards of RajaRajeswari Medical College and hospital about the different kinds of abuse the elderly people undergo and how to overcome that. About 45 to 50 general public and elderly patients participated and got benefitted from this awareness programme and their doubts were clarified during the session.
