Workshop on Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
The Workshop on Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) was jointly hosted by RajaRajeswari College of Nursing and RajaRajeswari Medical College & Hospital on June 15th, 2019 at 9.30 am to 1.30 pm in Kadamba Auditorium. The gathering was welcomed by Mrs. Asha Saajji, Asso. Professor & HOD Medical Surgical Nursing Department. The programme was inaugurated with the invocation song followed by lighting the lamp. Dr. Shahajananda, HOD, Anesthesia Department, RRMCH briefed about the importance of BLS & ACLS in day today life to save the life of patient’s in emergency. Dr. Ashokanand and Dr. Naveen, Senior Consultants, Fortis Hospital, demonstrated the technique of BLS and ACLS and also briefed about the 2018 updated guideline, followed by that hands on training for all the participants (Doctors, Nursing students, nursing Officars, & PG’s) was carried on under the guidance of Dr. Ashokanand and Dr. Naveen. The programme was winded with felicitation and vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Reshma A V, PG Student.
SNA Intercollegiate Competition – Bangalore Zone (2019)
Bangalore zone SNA intercollegiate competitions 2019 which was held on 19.06.2019 at RR College of Nursing bangalore.18 nursing colleges were participated in this zonal competition. Students of RajaRajeswari College of nursing actively participated in various cultural & sports events. It was a good opportunity for students to bring out their talents. International Yoga Day was celebrated on 25 June 2019 by the students and faculties at RajaRajeswari College of nursing with great enthusiasm. The chief guest for this programme Mr. Karthik Patel, Mrs. Prinyanka MB and Mr. Pavan Sudan, Yoga Instructors, Dr. A Jebarna Kiruba Mary, they inaugurated the celebrations by lighting the lamp. This was followed by a prayer song.
Mr. Pavan Sudan, Yoga Instructor demonstrated various asanas followed by Omkar chanting. Warm up exercises were taken and all the students performed sitting and standing asanas, Importance of these were explained simultaneously by Mrs. Priyanka MB. Yoga Instructors encouraged the students to practice regular and for its maximum benefits. Regular practice of yoga will surely help our students achieve a better life, physically, mentally and spiritually as well. After the yoga session Ms. Priyanka & Ms. Abhirami Rajesh danced for the song “Yoga Anthem†.The celebration was concluded after the delivery of vote of thanks by Mr. Hariharan.
Nutritional Programm
Importance of nutrition education as means for improving nutrition of the community. Lack Of Awarness About Nutrition Cause Many Health Problems. IB.Sc (N) and GNM nursing students organized a nutritional programme on 3 ,4 and 6 june 2019. Our first year B.Sc (N) and GNM nursing students exhibited posters on different food groups, special diet for various health conditions like DM , HTN, Old Age Group. Antenatal Mothers , Postnatal Mothers, infants , preschoolers etc..

Awareness programs on Good Touch and Bad Touch
International Women’s Day is celebrated globally on 8 March every year in honour of their remarkable contribution to our society. The day also, commemorates the inspiring role of women around the world to secure women’s rights and build more equitable societies.
RajaRajeswari College of Nursing conducted Awareness programs on Good Touch and Bad Touch among school students
The awareness programme was conducted on 24/2/19 to 3/3/2019 in various schools. This programme was organized in 4 different locations – Govt school, chunchunakuppe, sri ram play home, kidzee, euro kids, cambridge preschool, anganwadi doddabele

Reinforcing the rules
During the programme, the children were very enthusiastic and interactive. They answered questions and were eager to learn. It was a workshop about how to teach the difference between ‘good touch’ and ‘bad touch’. A video on ‘Good Touch and Bad Touch’ was also played during the awareness programme.
Trainers collected feedback on the workshop in the end and closed the workshop. Teachers said that they were happy to learn about ‘Good Touch and Bad Touch’ and how to approach the problem. The awareness programme was grand success in terms of participation and learning opportunities and tutors and trainers were happy with it.
Regional Conference on Data Analysis and its Application
The participants of the Regional conference were UG and PG students and faculty of various institutions. A total of 385 delegates participated in the Regional conference from various colleges across different places.
By 9.00 am, registration was closed and pre-test was administered.
The inaugural session started at 9 am by invoking God’s blessings.
Dr.Jebarna Kiruba Mary, Principal RRCON welcomed the gathering and she encouraged the delegates and stressed the need for a clear perspective on data analysis and its application for nursing students.
This was followed by lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries and one representative from the delegates.
The chief guest was Dr.Pravin, Vice Principal, RRMCH and Guest of Honor was Dr.Prema Professor of Paediatrics Department, RRMCH.

At 9.30 am to 10.30 am the first session was started regarding measures of central tendency and measures of variability was taken by Dr.Balamurgan, HOD department of Mental Health Nursing M.S.Ramaiah institute of nursing sciences and research. He explained in depth regarding the topic
10.30 am to 11 am was tea break
The second session was started at 11 am by Dr.Sasikumar, HOD department of Nursing research and statistics, Vydehi Institute of Nursing Sciences and Research Centre. He explained regarding measures of relationship and normal distribution
The 3rd session begins from 12 noon by Prof.Sumithra selvam, Professor, department of biostatistics, St.John’s Research Institiute, St.John’s national academy of health sciences. She explained regarding inferential statistics-parametric and nonparametric test.
The post lunch session started by 2.00 pm, which was conducted by Prof.Chandrakal, Professor Department of community medicine RRMCH. She explained about application of statistics in health and use of statistical packages by use of computers for data analysis.
Post-test was administered before valedictory function
The valedictory function started at 3.30 pm by invoking god’s blessings. The gathering was welcomed by Ms. Noori1st year M.sc nursing student.
Followed by evaluation/positive feedback was given by the participants from different college.
The regional conference report was delivered by Mrs. Tejeshwari.B.V HOD & Associate Professor where the pre-test and post-test scores also were compared. There was a 19.5% increase in the average mean score of pre-test and post-test.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Sunaina, first year M. Sc nursing student. The function adjoined by 4.30 pm with National anthem.
The regional conference overall was the feather in the cap and it was a milestone and there will be many on the way to come. The RRCON is always known for giving its quality education and making the students learn through practical training.
Guest Lecture – Overview of Psychiatry MSE Suicide
On 13th of February 2019, a guest lecture was conducted on psychiatry by Department of Psychiatric Nursing of Rajarajeswari College of Nursing in Kadamba hall of Rajarajeswari medical College & Hospital under the guidance of Mrs. Parineetha, HOD of psychiatry nursing. Dr. Vishnuvardhan, Professor & HOD of psychiatry department RRMCH, Dr. Sumanth, Associate Professor and Dr. Vidhya, Assistant Professor of psychiatry were the guests who gave lecture on topics based on the guidelines of INC syllabus. The topics were- Introduction and History of psychiatry, Mental Status Examination and Suicide & its prevention. It was started at 10:15am till 12pm. Over around 96 students from Bsc 3rd year, 2 students from Msc 1st year along with 2 lecturers of psychiatry nursing attended the guest lecture. It was a fruitful session that helped to enlighten the knowledge of the students.

Students were selected by conducting preliminary test under the guidance of Mrs. Muneeshwari , Mrs. Reshma kharvi, Ms. Pooja . Faculties co-ordinated the activites of quiz competition. The questions for quiz were selected from nursing foundation subject.Students were actively participated in the competition. Ms. Washima B.Sc(N) Won The First Prize. The students expressed tht quiz competition was helpful in enhancing their knowledge

The stage programmes commenced with a prayer song, welcome speech followed by flog hosting by our Principal Dr. A.Jebarna Kiruba Mary followed by national Anthem. The student representative explained about the importance of republic day. The programme was ended with vote of thanks.
