Independence day of India was celebrated in RajaRajeswari college of nursing on 15th August 2019, at Thursday . This year in 2019, India celebrated its 73rd independence day to pay tribute and remember all the freedom fighter who had contributed a lot and fought for the Independence of India
The gamut of celebration activities held on the campus consisted of special morning assembly and parade. The entire college assembled at the ground. The principal hoisted the Tricolor followed by National anthem. After the anthem, group song “Ai mere vathan ke logo†filled every one with pure patriotism. Some students gave an impressive and powerful speech.
At the end, the principal gave a speech reminding the students and the teachers of the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters and made us take pledge that we would serve our motherland, India with heart, body and soul. The function came to an end with distribution of sweets among students and staffs.
10th April 2019 “World safe motherhood day†was observed by Dept of OBG Nursing. Awareness was given to postnatal mother in RRMCH postnatal wards on various topics like exclusive breast feeding, techniques of breast feeding, advantages of Breast Feeding and newborn care. It was explained in Hindi and Kannada. Mother actively participated & their doubts were clarified at the end of lecture.Programme was successfully completed with participant’s cooperation. The department is very much grateful to HOD of OBG in RRMCH for their support and constant encouragement
OBG Dept of RRCN has organized one day (10-2-2019) Seminar on Cervical Cancer for two sessions. The objective of the workshop was to create awareness about cervical cancer. The workshop was attended by 76 participants. They were B.Sc III yr, B.Sc IV yr, P.B B.Sc I yr, M.Sc Nursing I yr & faculties. Participants had a chance to clarify the doubts during the open session held by experts at the end of the Session.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecological (OBG) Nursing observed ‘Newborn Week’ from 15 to 21 November 2018. The aim for celebrating the week is to raise awareness about the importance of the newborn care for child survival and development. A number of activities were organized by the College of Nursing for postnatal mothers, their newborns, staff and the students as part of the newborn week celebrations.
Dept of OBG Nursing organized Continuing Nursing Education Programme on the topic “Maternal and New Born Care’’ on account of International Midwives Day on 8th May 2019. Health Educational was given to the mothers on Antenatal care and postnatal care at RRMCH, OBG ward. Around 25 mothers participated in the programme. Programme started at 10:30a.m and winded up at 12.30 pm.

CRESCITA – 2K19The crystal Jubilee celebration CRESCITA – 2K19 of RajaRajeswari College of Nursing was held on 22nd August 2019.
Dr. Riyaz Basha Deputy Registrar, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health sciences, Bengaluru was the chief guest of the program. Guest of Honour were Ms. Kavitha Gowda, Indian Film Actress and Mr. Sujay Shastri, Indian Film Actor.
The event was diligently organized.
The program starts with the welcome dance, welcome song. Video about the journey of 15 Years was presented By Mr. Joyal K Jose, IIIrd Year B.Sc Nursing.
This was followed by the Lighting of the Ceremonial lamp by the Hon’ble Chief Guest, Executive Director and other dignitaries’. Dr A. Jebarna Kiruba Mary, Principal, presented the annual report which highlighted the achievements, the awards and projects over the past year.
A Souvenir, token of remembrance, is an object a person acquires for the memories the owner associates with it. It may have intrinsic value or can be a symbol of experience. The students share pleasant memories and experiences which they have during their tenure at Alma mater. Souvenir CRESCITA 2K19 was released by Honorable Chief Guest, Executive Director and other dignitaries on the Dias.
Students sung the ‘college song’ which was written by Principal and composed by Ms. Mandhira, Lecturer.
Our Executive Director Dr. S. Vijayanand M.Tech., Ph.D. felicitated the Chief Guest. The honorable chief guest delivered a valuable speech. Guest of honor the veteran Indian film actress and actors were praised for the versatility of the students who exhibited a perfect cultural extravaganza. Guest of honor performed on stage which added color to the occasion. The chief guest and Executive director gave away prizes to brilliant students and sportsmen. All the students are honored for their academic and nonacademic achievements.
Mrs. Tejeswari, Associate Professor welcomed the gathering .Vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Kanchana M Naik, Associate Professor. The program was compered by Mrs. Asha Sajji, Associate Professor.
The Principal thanked the chief guest and the function came to a close with the singing of the National Anthem.
After the formal functions, Cultural event was diligently organized. The performances opened with a Semi classical dance. Various events in the field of dramatics, dance, and singing were performed by students. However, everybody enjoyed cultural functions. The audience comprising students, faculty, staff, non-teaching staff, parents etc., enjoy every item of the programme with a great fun. The Cultural program was compared by Ms. Aliyesha, IV Year B.Sc Nursing.
At last the most awaited dance on DJ which was much enjoyed by students. Success of this event couldn’t possible without commendable effort and meticulous planning of our Management along with cultural committee of institute.
Overall it was great event and most memorable day in the history of RRCN!
View GalleryRajaRajeswari Medical College & Hospital has adopted Chunchnakuppe RHTC centre under the Arogya Bandhu schemes its rural centre. The health centre has its own building with OPD, inpatient facilities, pharmacy, minor OT and injection room etc. We are in the process of upgrading it to a 24×7 health centre. The students are posted on rotation every year as per their requirement.
Activities of the DepartmentThe department provides students teaching regarding field experience and door to door step services in the community which will give more involvement in the community activities and students are gaining skills how to use available recourse and provide care to community population. Students are visiting various places like Akshya patra, water purification centre, sewage plant, epidemic hospitals, milk dairy etc. The department lab is equipped with adequate number of models like modern village model, bio-medical waste management model, water purification model, model of PHC etc which helping student actively participate in learning successfully.
The students are trained in the community areas how to provide services which will help the students gain more knowledge in the field of community areas. In addition to meeting the requirements the students conduct many other programmes. We celebrate all national and international health days like population day, world’s AIDS day, health day, environment day, republic day etc by conducting through seminars, rallys, health checkups, health education etc.
Health education is provided through group and individually through puppet show, role play, street play etc
Physical assessment is done at the home, schools and health care centre. ANC, PNC, immunization clinic etc are also conducted at community levels. Nutrition demonstration done at village level.
A visit to Akshya Patra, Vasanthpura, kanakapura main road. We conduct school health programme in different school and educated students regarding various health topics like personal hygiene, menstrual hygiene, dental hygiene, balance diet, drug abuse, good touch & bad touch etc.

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Ashwitha, Dr. Kavya, Dr. Varalakshmi, Dr.Leela. Total 65 B.Sc (Nursing students) 3 M.Sc (Nursing students) with departmental faculty and HOD were attended the guest lecture. Dignitaries were lighted the lamp. Mrs. Usha, Associate Professor given inaugural address followed by topic presentation. Resource persons presented topics on Obstetric Hemorrhage, Obstetric Shock, Amniotic Fluid Embolism, and Shoulder Dystocia. The programme was ended with vote of thanks by Ms. Jaswanthi, Lecturer, OBG Dept.
