Every year our Institution celebrates the World Environment Day with passion in support to the environment by planting of saplings. Tree Plantation programme was held in our college on 5th June 2020 at 11.30am.Mrs.Asha Sajji HOD of Medical Surgical Nursing Department explained about importance of tree plantation. Later the event was ended by taking an oath to prevent the environment from pollution by contributing little in our daily life.
The Medical Surgical Nursing department of RajaRajeswari College of Nursing organized the World Cancer Day Celebration event on 4/2/2020 to create awareness about Cancer among students and to unite everyone in the fight against Cancer. A Cancer Awareness Seminar was delivered by the HOD Mrs. Asha Sajji, who also emphasized on the theme ‘I am and I will’ and encouraged the students to join their hands to raise the awareness about cancer in public.
With the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, as declared by World Health Organization (WHO) as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern, awareness programme was organized from Department of Medical Surgical Nursing on 13-03-2020 focusing more on preventive aspects to protect the health care staff and the public.
The programme started at 10:30 am at RRMCH lobby in order to create awareness among the general public and the patients attending the OPD. 3rd year B. Sc. Nursing students of our college created the awareness about spread of COVID19 and its preventive measures among the public through the role play. Associate Professor Reshma Kharvi, demonstrated the proper use and disposal of the Mask and Associate Professor and Head, Depatment of medical surgical nursing, stressed on importance of social distancing and how it can help in controlling the spread of corona virus. At the end the students also demonstrated the proper hand washing technique and its importance.

The department of child health nursing, RajaRajeswari College of nursing, Bangalore has conducted video assisted awareness on COVID-19 to 3rd year B.SC nursing students on 15.04.2020.
Beneficiaries: 80 students of 3rd B.sc nursing and 2nd GNM nursing.
The department of community health nursing of RajaRajaeswari College of Nursing has created and organized awareness, Myths, facts, prevention and control related to COVID-19 through role play and video teaching from B.Sc 2nd year students.
The NSS group of RajaRajaeswari College of Nursing has attended training programme regarding COVID-19 under RGUHS through CISCO WEBEX app.

The students showcased their talent and creativity through painting, singing, drawing, 1minute real video making. The participants actively participated in the competition and wondrously showcased. Amazingly, the enthusiasm among the participants was worth watching. Students touched many aspects related to covid-19 and showcased through the variations of colors.
On MAY 12, the final day of National Nurses week, we celebrated the 200th birthday of the founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale. The day was celebrated at college premises. The programme was inaugurated with the invocation song followed by lighting the lamp, and offering flowers to Florence Nightingale as a mark of gratitude. Faculties Lighted the Lamp with the Candle. On the day, the cake cutting ceremony was performed by faculties.
Ceremony ended with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Roopalatha V for giving their precious time and participants for their attendance.
Nurses have a great responsibility to improve the health of the population as well as to contribute towards the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals thus acting as a force for change.
Today nursing has evolved into a profession with wealth of skills and professional knowledge. Nurses are the largest group of health professionals, who are the closest and often the only available health workers to the public.
The Craft competition has been organised in connection with the lamp lighting and oath taking ceremony which was held on Tuesday, 19th February 2020. Eye catching handicrafts were made by the GNM & B.Sc Nursing students was displayed .
The boys and girls showed a lot of enthusiasm in making the different crafts which was judged by Mrs. Jyothi Rao, HR, RajaRajeswari Medical College & Hospital.
The best 3 from each were awarded with certificates. On the whole the competition was a learning and joyous experience wherein each student tried his best to do something different and it gave them a chance to be creative and display their talents.

The lamp lighting ceremony is an auspicious occasion in every nurse’s life, held in reverence to Florence Nightingale, the lady with the lamp. Nursing is the only profession that follows lamp lighting ceremony. Light, as a symbol of knowledge, removes ignorance and is a lasting wealth by which lots could be achieved. The lamp lighting ceremony formally recognises the students’ entry into the nursing profession.
The Lamp lighting and Oath taking ceremony of our College for B.sc and GNM Students was held on 19th February of 2020. The Occasion was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. Dr.Prof.V.T.Lakshmamma, Principal KIMS College Of Nursing was the Special guest of the occasion. Prof.Mrs. Savitha Naveen, Principal, Pragathi College of Nursing was the Chief Guest and Dr. Edwin Devadoss, Principal Rajarajeswari Dental College was the guest of honor for the the occasion. Dr. Satyamurthy Dean, RRMCH, Dr. Praveen, Medical superintendent, Mrs. Meenakshi, Nursing superintendent was present. All 160 students rendered into the profession by taking the oath delivered by Dr.Prof.V.T.Lakshmamma.
The Ceremony was hosted by Ms. Sunaina M.Sc (N) IIYear student. The programme started with an invocation song by Ms. Ashly II.B.Sc and Prof .Mrs.Tejeswari HOD Department of Community Health Nursing, welcomed the gathering. Dr.Prof.V.T.Lakshmamma, Principal KIMS College Of Nursing, delivered a message on significance of Lamp Lighting. Dr.Prof.V.T.Lakshmamma and Prof.Mrs. Savitha Naveen, Mrs. Meenakshi Nursing superintendent and Dr. A Jebarna Kiruba Mary, Principal Rajarajeswari Nursing college lit the florence nightingale lamp and the students marched forward to receive the flame Oath.
Mrs. Reshma kharvi Asso. Professor delivered vote of thanks. The formal programme ended with National Anthem.

RajaRajeswari College of Nursing, Physiotherapy and Allied Health Science had organised a session on “Rising Together†a faculty development program on 22nd February 2020 at 10:00am in the Board Room, RRMCH.
Mrs. Smitha Ramesh a trained life skill trainer by Profession was invited to deliver the talk. The session was attended by 17 delegates that include the principal’s of the respective college.
Mrs. Roopalatha, Associate Professor, Nursing introduced and welcomed the Speaker.
Mrs. Smitha spoke on how emotional Intelligencers (EI Quotient) plays a vital role in the field of teaching and also how important it is to for the teachers to step out of the comfort zone to be self motivated and also to be a part of a great team. She introduced us into heuristic exercises like the ‘Johari Window’ and the Japense concept of ‘Ikigaiâ€. The session was interactive along with self assessment activities conducted by her.
The session was ended by a vote of thanks given by Mrs. Jibi Deepak, Assistant Professor, and Physiotherapy along with gifting Mrs. Smitha with a token of love and appreciation.
Christmas celebration was conducted in our college premises on 11/12/2019. The program was organized by B.sc & GNM nursing students and management. The program was started with a prayer song followed by welcome speech given by Mr. Manoj Murali. Then the cake cutting event was done and the importance of Christmas celebration was spoken by Ms.Sarika. A few cultural events were conducted and the program was ended by vote of thanks by Ms.Arpitha
