World tuberculosis Day 2021

Each year we commemorate World TB Day to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of tuberculosis (TB) and to step up efforts to end the global TB epidemic. The date marks the day in 1882 when Dr. Robert Koch announced that he had discovered the bacterium that causes TB, which opened the way towards diagnosing and curing this disease.

World Meteorology Day – 2021

World Meteorological Day is observed every year on March 23 to highlight the importance of the role that people and their behaviour play in protecting Earth’s atmosphere. The day also commemorates the establishment of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), which is an intergovernmental body, on March 23, 1950.

World Water Day 2021

The resolution to observe World Water Day was first adopted by the UN General Assembly on December 22, 1992, after which March 22 was declared as World Water Day and is celebrated around the world since 1993.

Ordinance Factory Day (India) – 2021

The Ordnance Factories’ Day is observed on 18th of March every year. The production of India’s oldest Ordnance Factory, which is at Cossipore of Kolkata, was started in 18th of March, 1802. The day is celebrated by displaying the rifles, guns, artillery, ammunition..etc in exhibitions all over India.

National Vaccination Day – 2021

The National Vaccination Day, also called the National Immunization Day, is celebrated every year on March 16 to convey the importance of vaccination to the entire nation. The day was first observed in the year 1995, the year on which India started Pulse Polio Programme. This year, the National Vaccination Day is important as the country has started its biggest Covid-19 immunization programme early this year and has already crossed the 30 million mark.

World consumer Rights Day – 2021

The World Consumer Rights Day is celebrated every year on March 15. The day is observed to raise awareness about a consumer’s rights and needs to enable the consumer to fight against social injustices. The World Consumer Rights Day 2021 theme is to gather all the consumers in a fight to “Tackle Plastic Pollution”.

Fresher’s Programme

The Fresher’s Programme for the students of 1st year B.Sc Nursing and 1st year GNM held on 26-02-2021. The aim of the programme was to ensure that every student feels welcomed, excited to begin this new stage in their education. The programme started with prayer.

Principal Dr. A Jebarna Kiruba Mary delivered the inaugural address and welcomed the students in Kadamba Auditorium followed by the role and responsibility of students were emphasized by the students about the various qualities they need to inculcate in themselves in order to become good human. Senior students addressed the fresher’s about college activities, facilities etc. The programme was started with cultural and Mr. Fresher, Miss Fresher has been announced; at last the programme was ended with the vote of thanks.
