Webinar on World Blood Donor Day

World Blood Donor Day was observed by Medical Surgical Nursing department on the theme ‘Give blood and keep the world beating’ through a webinar on 22nd June 2021. 2nd year B. Sc. Nursing students took the initiative to organize this webinar under the guidance of Mrs. Asha Sajji Professor & HOD. The webinar was begun by welcome note from Ms. Ann Treesa Bacon. Mr. Rithesh J, Ms. Ann Treesa Bacon, Mr. Midhun Jose, Ms, Shreenanda Saha, Mr. Jacob George and Ms. Ankita Neogi spoke about importance of blood donation, physiology of blood formation, components of blood, blood grouping and typing, donor eligibility, preservation and storage of blood and blood donation during covid 19 pandemic. About 200 students participated in the webinar. At the end, participant’s doubts were clarified through question answer session. Finally the vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Shreenanda Saha. World Autoimmune Arthritis day – 2021

The International Foundation for Autoimmune & Autoinflammatory Arthritis has orchestrated an annual campaign since 2012 to raise awareness of diseases that are autoimmune in nature and that cause joint inflammation and pain. That includes such diseases as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and Sjögren’s syndrome, to name a few. World Autoimmune/Autoinflammatory Arthritis Day is May 20 this year. The theme, with a nod to the “auto” prefix, is “Race to Fuel Awareness.” The ASBMB will observe WAAAD by sharing research and stories about the mechanisms of the disease
