Health Education Program

A Health education program was conducted along with the community postings of 4th year B.Sc Nursing. On the month of June, collaborating with department of Community Health Nursing Mrs. Tejeshwari B.V HOD & Professor and Mrs. Manali Chakraborty lecturer of Community Health Nursing RRCN Bangalore.

This program was conducted to develop the health attitude, to eradicate the disease through health programs, to provide a helpful environment for physical and mental growth, and to improve the general conditions of living in the community and also to instruct the children and youth so as to conserve and improve their own health. All together 118 topics were included like HIV, AIDS, COVID-19 etc. Flash cards which include the photos of each topic which was made by students helped them a lot to understand more. The program was ended by thanking the members of community for their great co-operation.

Nutritional Demonstration Program

A nutritional demonstration program was done in Ganpatihalli from 13th of June to 26th June 2022 collaborating with department of Community Health Nursing Mrs. Tejeshwari B.V HOD & Professor and Mrs. Manali Chakraborty lecturer of Community Health Nursing RRCN Bangalore.

This program was conducted to provide education information on nutritional value of the foods, food quality and safety, methods of preservation, processing and handling, food preparation and eating to help them make the best choice of foods for an adequate diet. There were around 20 groups 98 individuals who performed that demonstration there were 118 varieties of dishes prepared by the students. Community members where happy to join with all of us they were able to understand and study about the nutritional value of food available around them.

The program ended by thanking the community people for the great co-operation.

Puppet Show

A puppet show was organized on 16th June 2022 at government higher primary School Ganpatihalli Bangalore, at 10:00 a.m. collaborating with department of Community Health Nursing, Mrs. Tejeshwari B.V HOD & Professor and Mrs. Manali Chakraborty lecturer of Community Health Nursing RRCN Bangalore. The puppet show was done on the topic malaria and dengue fever.

The master of ceremony was carried out by Ms.Mamatha. Puppetry is a traditional form of entertainment which compain music and storytelling. The show had more than 8 characters which included Bheem, chutki, their families, a community nurse and mosquito. The students were enrolled to see their favourite character of a popular TV show come live during the puppet show. It was a unique learning experience for the students to learn about malaria and dengue fever. All together 200 students participated in the program, the program was continued by health education on malaria and dengue fever and among them one of the student share his views regarding the show, and then some programs were conducted which included songs and dance by the students, followed by vote of thanks which was given by Ms. Mamatha and Ms.Indira. The program ended with national Anthem.

Environment Day Celebration

The world environment Day was organized on 6th June 2022 at government higher primary school Ganpatihalli Bangalore at 10:00 a.m. collaborating with department of Community Health Nursing RRCN Bangalore this year theme was “Only one Earth “.

Ms. Mamatha welcomes the audience. The program was inaugurated by Mrs. Shylaja HM of government higher primary school, along with Mrs.Tejeshwari B.V, HOD and Professor of Community Health Nursing and Mrs. Manali Chakraborty lecturer department of community health nursing RRCN Bangalore.

The master of ceremony was carried out by Ms. Indira the program begins with prayer song by Ms. Ashly and team. All together 200 students were participated in the world environment day program. Mr. Vishwanath interacted with school children and explained about the importance of protecting our environment. After that, all students and faculties did saplings in the school premises.

The chart was presented and songs sung by the school children. Vote of thanks was given by Ms. Kavyashree and then pledge was taken by students for initiating of saving the environment. Our goal is on for greener mother earth. The program ended with national anthem.

Fresher’s Day Programme

The Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking Ceremony of 2021-2022

Venue: Kadamba Auditorium Hall.

The lamp lighting ceremony for the B.Sc Nursing and diploma nursing (GNM) Students of RRCN & RRSN was held on May 9th May 2022 at Kadamba Hall, RRMCH, Bangalore. Dr Gajendra Singh BOS Chairman, UG Nursing, RGUHS was the Chief Guest of the ceremony. Special guest of the occasion were Chief Executive officer Shri C N Seetharam, Retired IAS Officer, Dr. Satyamurthy Dean, RRMCH, Dr. Praveen, Medical superintendent.

The lamp lighting is an auspicious occasion in which formally recognizes the students entry into the nursing profession. Light is a symbol of knowledge and it removes ignorance.

The function began at 10.30 am with the procession of 1st year students and Ms. Anuja from 2nd year B.Sc (N) and Ms. Ashley from 3rd year B.Sc. (N) invoked God’s blessings. On this occasion Miss. Tinkar Kowsar Banu welcomed the gathering. The dignitaries on the dais lighted the lamp and inaugurated the ceremony.

Dr Shamili, Professor, Department of Psychiatric Nursing, highlighted the significance of the day and explained the scope of Nursing.

The dignitaries along with the faculty lit the lamps of 160 novice nursing students which symbolize wisdom, knowledge and compassion, followed by recitation of oath, pledging themselves to uphold the duties as a professional Nurse, administered by Principal, Dr A Jebarna Kiruba Mary.

The chief guest, Prof Dr Gajendra Singh, in his address to the gathering applauded the students for choosing the nursing profession. He emphasized the importance of acquiring knowledge and skills through class room learning and clinical practice. They stressed on qualities of nurses which make the patient to feel better and encourage the students to take part in direct patient care. Dr. Satyamurthy Dean, RRMCH congratulated the graduating students and wished them a glorious future and continued success in their academic and professional endeavours.

Mrs Manali Chakraborty, Lecturer, Department of Community Health Nursing, proposed the vote of thanks. The Programme was compered by Mrs Debalina Dey, Assistant professor, Department of Pediatric Nursing

The ceremony came to an end at 12.30 pm with national anthem.

International Women’s Day 2022 Celebrations

“A woman with a voice is, by definition, a strong woman. But the search to find that voice can be remarkably difficult.”

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. RajaRajeswari College of Nursing celebrated the “International Women’s Day” on March 18th at ACS Convention Hall, RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital.

The chief guest for this program was Mrs. Sudha Baragur, an Indian woman standup comedian. The program was presided by Smt. Lalita Lakshmi, Trustee, Moogambigai Charitable and Educational Trust.

Smt. Lalita Lakshmi, Trustee, MCET in her speech, addressed the audience and spoke about the importance of women in society and family, and their contribution. Mrs. Sudha Baragur, the chief guest, spoke about the obstacles, ups and downs that come across in the way of women’s achievement. As basically she is a comedian she made everyone enjoy her talk and added further grace to the function with her jokes.

The Chief Guests distributed prizes to those who won in sports, organized for women. The Faculty and non-teaching staff of the institute participated in the program with a great keenness.

There were cultural programs by all the women staff. The highlight of the performance was the fashion show on Indian inspirational women. The program came to an end with a vote of thanks combined with a lavish lunch to all.
