4th & 5th Day of Breast Feeding Week- 2023

K.R. Halli & Quiz competition
To bring awareness among the public Poster Exhibition, Competition & Mass Health Education on Breast feeding was done in PHC, K.R Halli, Bangalore on 4 th August 2023 by Final Year, 3rd BSC nursing, and GNM 2 nd year students. Furthermore the preliminary round of quiz competition conducted to 3 rd year B.Sc. (N) students. The students of 3 rd year B.Sc divided into total of 6 groups, among this 5 groups selected for the final round that conducted on 5 th august 2023. The final round quiz competition held on 5 th on Kadamba hall. The participants had attended 4 rounds of quiz. In the last rapid fire round we got 2 groups among that Ms. Sonali Patra and her group has won the 1 st prize.

RajaRajeswari College of Nursing celebrated World Environment Day is annually on 5th June and encourages awareness and action for the protection of the environment. It is supported by many non-governmental organizations, businesses, government entities, and represents the primary United Nations outreach day supporting the environment

Regional Football Tournament – April 2022

Date: 5th April 2022 to 7 th April 2022 Venue: RRMCH Football Ground RajaRajeswari College of Nursing conducted Regional football tournament in celebration of World Health Day 2022 on the theme “Our Planet, Our Health”. The programme was inaugurated by Sri V Ramakumar, Ex Football Player, Karnataka State Football Association (Chief Guest), Dr.B.Sathyamurthy, Dean, Dr. Naveen. S, Principal, RRMCH, Dr. Basavaraj Bandari, Vice Principal, RRMCH, & Dr. A C Shyam, Sports Council, RRMCH. Around 20 colleges across Bangalore participated in the tournament which was held for 3 days.

International Nurses Day – 2023

Nature of the Program: International Nurses Day Celebration & Cultural Competition Organizing department: Student Nurses Association, RRCN. The faculty and students of RajaRajeswari College of Nursing and Nursing Department of RRMCH celebrated the International Nurses’ day on May 12, 2023.
The theme for International Nurses Day 2023 is ‘Our Nurses. Our Future.’ It recognizes the invaluable contributions of nurses globally and highlights their vital role in shaping the future of healthcare. This day serves as a global celebration of nurses, honoring their commitment, bravery, and dedication.

Holi Celebration 2023

At RRCN, we celebrated the Holi festival on 8th of March 2023 with eco-friendly manner. This festival is a lot of fun on the RRMCH campus. In CAMPUS there was a great arrangement for celebrating this festival of fun and frolic. There was also provision for a DJ. Students were made to be aware of not to waste water and not to include customary violence, which is quite prevalent and witnessed quite often. All students and faculties felt the exuberance of warmth and the joy of vibrant colors applied on them. There was laughter, joy and merry making in the air.

National Nutritional Week Celebration 2022

Nutrition is a critical part of health and development. Better nutrition is related to improved infant, child and maternal health, stronger immune systems, safer pregnancy and childbirth, lower risk of non-communicable diseases (such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease), and longevity.

Nutrition is the only remedy that can bring full recovery and can be used with any treatment. Remember, food is our best medicine.

National nutritional week is celebrated to make the people aware the importance of nutrition. To maintain healthy lifestyle and remain free from disease each and every one should adopt healthy eating habits. There is a famous saying “Health Is Wealth” which means that if we have good health then we process all the wealth of the world.

National Nutrition Week (NNW) is an annual nutrition event of great importance and is observed every year in the country from 1st September to 7th September. In the year 1982 National Nutrition week celebration was started by the Central Government in India. India to generate awareness among the general public about the significance of healthy eating practices and proper nutrition for upholding a nourishing lifestyle. To live a balanced life, it is of utmost importance for individuals to take a nutritional diet.

The National Nutrition week was organized by Raja Rajeswari College of nursingas a part of awareness programme based on the theme “Celebrate World of Flavours”. The Nutrition week was held from 22nd August to 1st September 2022 at the Nutrition Lab of Raja Rajeswari college of Nursing from 9.30 am onwards to 3 pm. The participants were 1st year B.Sc. nursing and 1st GNM nursing students.Students were divided into 28 groups and were assigned to prepare a one-day menu plan of a balanced diet for infants (weaning), toddlers, pre-schoolers, school-age children, adolescents,athletes, weight gain, normal Indian meal plan, perimenopausal women antenatal mothers and postnatal mothers. They also prepared therapeutic diets for pre-schoolers with malnutrition (PEM), obesity and patients with diabetes mellitus, hypertension, liver diseases, cholelithiasis, renal failure, CAD, nephrotic syndrome, anaemia, bronchial asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, PCOD, CVA, osteoporosis, Crohn’s disease and irritable bowel syndrome. Students discussed within their groups as well as with the supervising teachers, planned and calculated the menu, based on the weight and type of work of the target group assigned to them.

On the day of the presentation, the students prepared the menu plan by applying the principles of hygienic cooking and displayed the menu with a brief presentation. the nutrition week programme was co- ordinated by Mrs. Debalina Dey, associate professor, dept. of paediatric nursing, RRCN.
