Founder’s Day – Ekattva Celebration 2026

RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital had the immense pleasure of hosting Founder’s Day – Ekattva, celebrating the birthday of our Founder Chairman, Dr. A. C. Shanmugam, on 29th September 2026 at the ACS Convention Centre, located within the campus.The day was filled with heartfelt expressions of love and gratitude from the institutions, staff, and students, in recognition of the opportunities and guidance provided by Dr. A. C. Shanmugam.
The programme commenced with a heartfelt tribute to the Chairman, presented by the students through a song and dance dedicated to him, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
Dr. Shanmugam was then presented with a Coffee Table Book, offering a glimpse into his inspiring and determined journey, while also chronicling his numerous achievements and contributions. The celebrations continued with the felicitation of the Chairman by representatives of various institutions as a mark of appreciation and gratitude.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Shanmugam expressed his gratitude to all the staff and students who contributed to making the occasion special. He shared that the institutions are built on four fundamental pillars: Excellence in Education; Discipline with Compassion; Service to Society; and Nation Building through Knowledge.
Speaking about his commitment to social responsibility, he expressed his happiness in extending support to orphanages and old-age homes. He also shared his dream of making quality education accessible to all, ensuring that no one is denied education due to financial constraints.
In a heartfelt message to the gathering, Dr. Shanmugam said that the students, faculty, and staff are not merely members of the institution but his extended family, adding, “I am proud of you all.” He encouraged everyone to look ahead with confidence and strive to achieve greater heights in both their professional and personal lives.
As part of the Ekattva celebrations held throughout the month, the institution also organised various health camps and blood donation drives, reflecting its commitment to service and community well-being.
During the programme, all those present took a pledge for a healthier and safer Nasha Mukt Bharat, pledging to stay away from drugs and spreading the message of “Say No to Drugs”.
As part of the programme, Dr. A. C. Shanmugam felicitated employees who have dedicated many years to the growth and development of the institution, acknowledging and appreciating their commitment and service.Awards and certificates were also presented to students and staff who participated in the sports and cultural competitions conducted as part of Ekattva.
The event was also attended by Dr. S. Vijayanand, Executive Director; Sri. Seetharam, IAS (Retd.), CEO; Dr. S. Naveen, Advisor; and various Heads of Institutions of RajaRajeswari Group of Institutions and Sri Chamundeshwari Group of Institutions.
