Objectives of Posting

• To observe and understand various psychiatric disorders and their management
• To develop skills in therapeutic communication and psychiatric nursing interventions
• To gain exposure to rehabilitation practices for mental health and de-addiction
• To participate in health education and awareness activities

Activities Undertaken

• Orientation to rehabilitation setup and protocols
• Participation in psychoeducation sessions
• Visit to de-addiction centre and observation of detoxification & counseling
• Observation of group therapy, occupational therapy, and recreational therapy
• Interaction with multidisciplinary teams
• Case presentations and care plan discussions

Learning Outcomes
Students were able to correlate theoretical knowledge with clinical practice, develop empathy and communication skills, and understand the role of a psychiatric nurse in a rehabilitation setting.
Conclusion
The posting at Cadabams Rehabilitation Centre was successfully completed. It provided valuable clinical exposure and enhanced the students’ understanding of mental health nursing. The guidance of the faculty and support from the centre staff contributed significantly to achieving the learning objectives.
