Lamp lighting and Oath taking ceremony – 2017

The lamp lighting ceremony is a tribute to Florence Nightingale-“The Lady with the Lamp” and it is an auspicious occasion in every Nurse’s life. This ceremony initiate the students into the noble profession of nursing, where the student nurses are adorned in their uniforms for the first time after which the students will study and practice in actual medical care surroundings. The lamp lighting ceremony for the first year B.Sc. Nursing and GNM students of RajaRajeswari College of Nursing was held on 05-04-2017 at RRMCH auditorium. The ceremony commenced with the invocation. Mrs.Kanchana M.Naik Associate Professor welcomed the gathering. Dr.Srikhanth Phulari, Registrar, Karnataka State nursing Council, Bengaluru, Karnataka was the Chief Guest. 125 students entered into the profession by taking the Nurse’s pledge which was delivered Mrs.A.Jebarna Kiruba Mary. The chief guest congratulated the student nurses for being into the noble profession, also added in his valuable message that care can occur without cure but cure cannot occur without care. Mrs.Jasmine Hilta, Assistant Professor, proposed the Vote of thanks. The lamp lighting ceremony came to an end with the National anthem.
